Don't Miss Outings is a feature column on our MBTU website intended to give members and prospective members a calendar of upcoming “Special” group outings. This column should help to make all of our members better able to look forward to participating in these group activities. Our group has an enjoyable time fishing together and lying about the extremely large fish we catch while also learning new techniques and having just plain good fellowship with a common goal, which is maintaining our cold water resource.

Meeting new friends and fishing is merely just a byproduct of this valuable resource. Remember this is everyone's chapter and your participation is encouraged in our meetings and our outings!”

Oct - East Fork French Broad Mentoring *** 2nd Saturday to better coincide with delayed harvest stockings

Nov - Cherokee Trophy - Raven Fork (Oconaluftee) Pay-to-play ($20 Cherokee annual fishing permit plus $7 daily usage fee)

Spring 2011 Outings

March - Shelton Laurel Mentoring *** 2nd Saturday to better coincide with delayed harvest stockings

April - Chattooga Mentoring

May - Wilson Creek Mentoring *** 2nd Saturday to better coincide with delayed
harvest stockings

June - South Mills (lower section above turkey foot)

July - Possible bonus outing to either a GSMNP stream or kayak/canoe outing at a
local lake.

** Please note that the 3 delayed harvest stream outings have moved up to the week before our monthly meeting to better coincide with delayed harvest stockings. The intent to give members the best chance at catching trout.(perhaps their first) The remaining outings will follow the traditional Saturday after monthly meeting schedule. All outings are subject to change due to water conditions at the time.
