December 21 – Christmas Social and Swap Meet. This is always a blast!

January 18, 2010 - Than Axtell from Headwaters Outfitters in Rosman, NC will join us for our monthly meeting. Than will be speaking on fishing the headwaters of the French Broad watershed (including the East, West, and North Fork. This includes images and details of our private stretch of the North Fork, as well as public stretches of all three tributaries.) We will also be raffling off a Guided trip with one of the Headwater Guides for $5 a ticket! Be sure not to miss this excellent presentation.

February 15, 2010 – Starr Nolan will be back to catch us up on Casting for Recovery. Please come out and meet Starr and I’m sure that you will enjoy her presentation. Our Chapter sends annual funds to support the North Carolina Casting for Recovery camp, and I’m sure that after seeing this presentation, you will agree that this is truly a remarkable cause.

Where, When, What?
Our meeting place is the Sears Shelter at 100 E. Park Avenue in Greenville, which is located adjacent to McPherson Park. The meeting will start at 6:30 pm with a meet and greet, and club business will kick off around 7:00 pm. Anyone needing directions can contact any of the board members by phone or email. Another alternative is to use a search engine such as Yahoo! to get driving directions and even print out a map.
Don't forget to take a look at our latest newsletter for more information on events and stories, quotes, etc... . Now available for download if you didn't get a copy in your email.

Special Projects
For those wanting and willing to get involved, there are some special participation projects available. The following list is designed to make individuals and volunteer groups, who would like to assist fisheries activities in the Park, aware of upcoming project dates and meeting locations. If you need further information, please conact Matt Kulp (865-426-1254) or Steve Moore (865-436-1250) Steve_E_Moore@nps.gov.

Stories, Tricks & Tips
Please review our website for current updates and information. To save our funds for projects and member activities, we would like to begin emailing you the newsletter directly each month instead of mailing you a card. Speaking of the newsletter, we would greatly appreciate fishing stories and photographs for inclusion in our newsletter.
If you have a good fishing story, a particularly noteworthy tale, a half truth or better, please email to Buck Denton wbdenton@bellsouth.net so we can include them on our web site. A new page would be added to feature the "tale of the month".

Shameless Crass Commercial Plug Department
Have pride in your chapter! Get one of these MBTU chapter patches to put on your vest, fishing hat, hip pocket of your jeans, heck just wherever you can. Good authority has it that the club has a generous supply of these patches, and now you can get yours for the low, low price of only $5. You'll have to come to a meeting, though, since we can't do the math to figure out how to calculate shipping and handling. Get yours at our next meeting. Regular meetings are scheduled for the third Monday of the month at 6:30 pm at the Sears Shelter located at 100 East Park Avenue (see Down the River section for more info), Greenville, SC.
