The meeting starts with a meet and greet session at 6:30, with snacks, followed by TU chapter business and a speaker around 7:00 pm.This is just a short distance from the I-385 and Butler Road exit. Besides being less than half the cost of our current facility, the Cultural Center is larger and more modern. It includes a drop down screen and ceiling mount projector for slide shows. South Holston Cabin Information Special!
Thanks to Paul McKee the following information on Cabins is available.

1. http://southholstoncabins.homestead.com
This cabin is a remodeled log cabin, nicely appointed inside. Located across from the dam. There is a terrific fishing area directly behind the cabin, a short 1/2 mi. walk down a trail. The river is wide here nd fishes well in the middle and on both sides. When the sulfur hatch come off at noon or so, ( summer) it is magical spot. I once caught 20+ fish in one spot without moving my feet. When they begin to generate, the water gets high...fast, so be careful to keep an eye on the gen. schedule and don't get caught too far out. The river bottom is very greasy and you can't move too fast...wading stick required.

We rented the Brick House, the second one in the listing. It is a basic rental, adequate, nothing special, however, there is great fishing right behind the cabin.

3. www.vrbo.com/296761
This was the nicest rental property that we have stayed in. It's way down stream from the dam area. The river access was rough, we did not catch anything behind the cabin. We normally fish in other areas anyway.

The “Fly Fishing Tips” page is a new page where we can all share a few of our secrets (so we think!) about fly fishing or fly tying. These items can really help newcomers shorten the learning curve, which can hold their interest in fishing and becoming a conservationist. It might even remind some of us older fishermen of tricks we had forgotten about! So send in your tips to Gary Johnson grjohnson1969@gmail.com.
We may even initiate a quarterly prize for the “Best Tip of the Quarter” if enough tips come in.
